Rafe thought it over, looking at his men. "Garrick, Baxter and Knox," he said. The three men perked right up, and looked at their Captain. "You three are permitted to transform at will during battle. Alister and Ralphy! You two will be under the command of those three. Transform when they need you to, but do not exceed your limit. The second you think your feral side is taking over-- I want you to morph back. Understand?"

"Yes, sir," said a skinny man. "Sure thing, Cap'n," said a chubbier pirate. Rafe then continued, "Good. Now the rest of you, put your best foot forward when battle ensues. Go for the weaker of the vamps first, and work your way up. Remember to leave the leaders for me and that young man." He briefly pointed to Jason, but hadn't been told his name. So Rafe just called him "young man..."

Itarilde smiled and replied,"Perfect."Itarilde's mages nodded and Itarilde smiled. She knew this party would go off without a hitch--"But...there is the rogue werewolf we have to take into account--I can't fight her and yes,she is a female werewolf. Since all others will be fighting outside, who is left?"The mages talked amongst themselves in a low murmur. Was she suggesting that all of Lemuwa fight?

In a dark black cloak,an unknown fiqure entered the room. Her scent reeked off werewolf and all the others in the room could sense that. She was indeed a woman but not the rogue werewolf that Itarilde spoke of. She then spoke up,"Perhaps I may be of assistance--"The woman then removed her hood and replied,"I am a fellow werewolf seeking to join the cause--and I would like to take a swing at this rogue werewolf--"

Rafe's werewolves could all sense this new feral presence. They perked up as a woman entered the room and spoke. Rafe, whose back had been faceing the doorway, turned around in his chair to study this new volunteer. "Wasn't this a secret meeting? Who the heck invited her?" whispered one of the pirates. "Who cares?" said one man in response, as he gazed at the woman's beauty. Another man quietly chuckled, "Heh, I smell a chick-fight in the making..."

"And who might you be, missy?" asked Rafe, glaring up at the woman. He studied her for a second, letting her appearance sink in. A dagger gleamed underneath her cloak. For one thing, the girl knew how to accesorize.

"My name,Captain--"Aurlie nodded towards Rafe and removed her cloak to reveal a red blouse with a corset holding it close to her body and black pants with matching black boots. She removed her belt that kept the sheath to her weapon upon her and placed it gently upon the table. She also removed her two daggers from her cloak and her boot."My name is Aurlie Atreus. Werewolf and pirate woman extrodinary--I have come to join the cause and it seems to me--you need my help."

"I guess you can join," said Rafe, indifferently, "Have you dealt with such a mission before? What's your experience in battle?" He picked up one of the shiny daggers. "Either you polish this beauty constantly, or you've never used it..." He tossed it back onto the table. The blond haired boy cringed once again. "Careful... glass table..." he whimpered.

Aurelie grabbed one of the daggers carefully from the table and asked him,"Well, you really want to know how good I am in battle, yes?"Aurelie still walked with the dagger in her hand."I have cleaned evil blood from this dagger for many years--a hundred years to be exact. I have been a pirate since the century it first started. I have been battling for many years--vampires against werewolves, werewolves against whatever--I have seen too many battles--many won, many lost But this one I think--we could win..."

Rafe clapped lightly, and smiled. "A hundred years, huh? Happy centennial... I celebrated by bicentennial birthday a while back..." he said, "But missy-- I practically invented piracy." He winked. It was, for the most part, true. In his early human years, he had been a privateer for the English fleet. When Letters of Marque were first issued, he was one of the first shippers to ever be granted them. It was then his job to seize enemy naval property from other nations. But Rafe didn't dwell on such details now. He only just met the woman! The two could reminisc about piracy another time...

"So-- you want to join our little caus, hm? And you claim to have battled many a time before? Well, then, I don't see why we shouldn't let you join. But-- well, how is it you happened to stumble upon our meeting, anyway? You wouldn't happen to be a spy, would you? The very werewolf Itarilde warned us about?"

"Captain!"Itarilde replied, standing up."Be calm--she knew about this meeting because I told her--she came to me two weeks ago and asked to join our cause--I told her that she was joining the wrong side--that she would join the werewolf side and she has--she is not the werewolf I spoke of--the werewolf is centuries older than Aurlie!"

Rafe raised an eyebrow at Itarilde. It was funny to see the elven woman burst with sudden fury like that. But he held back his laughter. "Aurlie? Cute name..." he simply said, "And fine, okay. So she's not a spy, nor the werewolf you mentioned..." He still didn't trust this woman, but he kept that opinion to himself. "So now that we're all here, let's recap everything and then adjourn this meeting... And hey-- when should we strike, anyway?"

Itarilde could sense that the captain did not trust Aurlie and she had to remind herself to ask the captain to give her a chance--the girl was a good warrior and she was noble, she had to give her that--but annoyed her that he actually thought she would be a rogue werewolf. Itarilde then replied,"We should attack two days from now--we can't hold off this any longer. So I suggest every one train up,get some weapons and everything--"She looked to Rafe and Aurlie, suggesting that the two should try and get along."You all should remember the plan--search and rescue--the followers mean nothing--"Itarilde then stood up and wrapped her cloak around her and replied,"I suggest we all get some good rest and start to trust in those we do not understand."That message was for Rafe and the new werewolf--Itarilde's mages then stood up and left the room. Itarilde would leave too but she would wait for the others to speak.

Rafe rolled his eye, as a sort of joke than anything else. He felt like a child-- just fooling around, and being told to "play nice," as it were. Perhaps he was out-of-line by questioning the motives of Aurlie, but he was simply being cautious. Women, as it seemed, always had a way of betraying him. They're ambitious, cunning... and oh so very dangerous.

And yet-- the more Rafe tried to distance himself from women, the more he becomes involved with them. It seemed like a vicious circle, a futile cycle. Maybe he should just be good and play nice with others. He may profit off of it in the future. And if not-- well it was a life lesson well learned.

The crew members all around nodded and mumbled in agreement. They then looked to their Captain for support. Rafe looked back into the eyes of his men, and thought the plan over one last time. "Alright, so it's settled then," he said, "In two days, we shall strike. Let's all meet back here, in front of this library, and we can proceed from there. You and your mages will have to lead the way..." He scooped up his dagger and locked it into place on his belt. A few of the other men took back their weapons as well.

Jason had watched the whole situation unfold. He sort of sided with Rafe at first. It was understable: Professor Tiwele had not mentioned this "Aurlie" girl-- and he hadn't a clue how she got into the library. Jason could have sworn that he locked the entrance. But in Lemuwa, anything was possible; a mere door lock could not keep out those who truly wanted in... So Jason was a bit weary of this newcomer. But if the Professor trusted her, then so should he. He just hoped it wasn't a mistake...

"Yeah, we all ought to train and rest before the big day-- er, night?" said Jason, "Professor, wouldn't it be wise to attack the vampires during the daylight hours? That is when they would be most inactive, limited to the shadows. Then again-- how deep into the woods is their hideout? Depending on the tree canopy density, the sun exposure, and over-all layout of their location-- sunlight may not be on our side. Well, not enough to harm vampires, anyway..." Jason viewed this scenario from a very objective and almost scientific point of view.

"Oi, that was a lot of big words there, mate..." said one of the pirate, bewildered and dumbfounded. Jason looked at the man with such a surprised face. "Big words?" Jason thought, "I hadn't used any..." He hoped that the other crew members weren't as intellectually limited as this pirate...

"If I may,Itarilde--"Aurlie replied, nodding her head to Itarilde, looking to Jason and replied,"Sunlight wouldn't be wise--we are rescuing a vampire girl, yes? If we rescue her,the same effects will happen to her as all the other vampires--they EXPECT us to attack at sunlight. The reason we would attack at night is they wouldn't expect it--surprise them, you see--I have seen the same thing in a couple of battles in my life."Aurlie then slipped her cloak on over her shoulders and gently picked up all of her weapons. Placing her belt with her sword around her waist while she placed her daggers in her cloak and boot.

Jason smacked his forehead. "Of course," he mumbled, "Heh, why didn't I think of that?" He had never befriended a vampire before. Half the time, he even forgot that Aemilius was a vampire. It slipped his mind that she could die in the sunlight. And plus, the werewolf girl had a point. The vampires would suspect a daytime attack much more than they would suspect a nighttime one. But then, wouldn't the vampires assume that Jason and the others assumed this? Jason rubbed his brow ridge. A headache started to form there. He was putting way too much thought into this. If he kept thinking about "what if's" and reverse-psychology-- then nothing would get done. He needed to just stop thinking, and simply take action. He had to prepare to battle with Gaston.

He stood, as did a few other men. The pirates were all strapping their swords back into place, and concealing their daggers. Jason had not brought any weapons. so he simply kicked back a bit while everyone gathered their things. He had to be the last one to leave, so as to close up the library. "Uh, good luck everyone," he said with a smile as a few men left, "Train a bit, and get some rest..." No one seemed to listen to him. Ugh, it was like school. Always getting ignored. He looked to the professor, doubting that she'd ignore him. "Good luck, Professor. I'll see you then," he said, flashing a smile. He then glanced at Aurlie, who was still concealing her weapons. "Uh, and nice to meet you. Good luck with your battle with the other werewolf." The pirate Captain at the way end of the table perked up. "Heh... not, that werewolf..."

"Heh."Aurlie replied, glancing at the pirate captain and then Jason,"Thank you--it was nice to meet you too."She smiled to him."Heh,I suppose I have two battles to win--one with a sword and one with trust--"Aurlie said this rather low so that the captain could not hear her."Aurlie then pulled the hood over her head and replied,''See you in two days time...."
